As I’ve been gone for so long I thought the least I could do is fill you in on what I’ve been up to over summer.
Between June 19th-26th some friends and I went on holiday to Malaga in Spain. If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen some lovely stories and posts. It was a week of sitting in the sun, drinking unmeasured drinks, discovering I’m allergic to mosquito bites and stuffing our faces with mountains of tapas. I cannot tell you in words, or numbers, how much alcohol I and everyone else consumed on this holiday. Despite being covered in blistered bug bites it was a perfect week away with a great group of people.
Not being well
After Spain came what seemed to be a never-ending spell of illnesses. The week after I got back from Spain I got bitten by something, probably another mosquito knowing my luck, and got Cellulitis. If you don’t know what it is and you want to I have linked a page explaining it because I can’t count the amount of times I had to tell people what it was cause they’d never heard of it. After Cellulitis came flu, a bad back and countless nosebleeds. And to top it all off one of my piercings got infected and I am currently on antibiotics for the second time this summer and I am awaiting a GP referral to a dermatologist to get a keloid scar frozen off my ear. It’s going really well.
In amongst the illness came Truck festival, for those of you that haven’t heard of it, no, it is not a truck/monster truck festival. It is a music festival and it is an incredible one at that. I had never been to a camping festival before this summer and now I want to go to any and every festival I possibly can. I had the best few days of my life, despite the rain and the shitty sleep I got. If you haven’t been to a camping festival you HAVE to do it, even if you just try it once. I got to see some of my favourite artists like Lewis Capaldi and Don Broco, who were both insane.
I was lucky enough to get plenty of work over the summer which is why I was able to go on holiday and go to Truck festival. But it also means I have been able to save money that can go towards helping me at university. Despite having weeks where I felt all I did was work and being exhausted I am grateful to be able to earn my own money.
Other than that, my summer was spent in the sun sat in bars along the beach enjoying plenty of drinks with friends. I think this summer was one of the best I’ve had in a couple years and I am very thankful for all the friends I spent it with, you guys really are the loves of my life.
I hope you all had a fabulous summer and thank you so much for reading this post. Remember to check out my socials below:
