Lucky dip clothing- In The Style

Hello everyone! So I recently discovered something that I thought was really interesting as I scrolling through endless rows of clothes online that I cant afford and that thing was buying mystery items from online clothing stores. So I thought I just had to try it out for not only myself but for you guys too.

So I took to In the style which is the shop I found this cool idea on and ordered four mystery items to try. One item is five pounds and the more items you buy the more of a discount they offer you, I ordered four items for £17.

It says on the website that the items will only be clothing, so no accessories, shoes or beauty products etc. It also says the items can be worth up to £50. I selected all items as a size six so I’m hoping everything fits because I go between a six and eight and these items are non-refundable or non-exchangeable.

The first item I pulled out was this pink sequin dress, I was so excited when I first saw it in the bag because, sparkles. When I put the dress on I realised the slit was a little too high for my liking. In the images it doesn’t look that bad but the dress doesn’t seem very practical, there is definitely a risk of flashing your underwear. A couple of the sequins fell off the dress, I think the dress is great value for money and I would definitely wear it but I think I will have to stitch the top of the slit just so it’s not too high and open.

I am a huge fan of t-shirt and jumper dresses so really liked this when I pulled it out the bag, its super comfy and soft. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of is that it felt a little to ‘boxy’ on my body. I think I will either try and rock it or I was thinking about cutting it into a cropped jumper. Again, I think it was a good value for money and was happy with the item.

Next we have this romper/playsuit, I think this is such a pretty piece of clothing. It’s a great holiday piece of clothing, although it’s long sleeved the material is thin and breathable and the print is so pretty.

Finally we have another dress, this item isn’t really my kind of style but is still a really nice piece. The material again is thin, breathable so is great for hot weather.

Overall I think the items weren’t perfect for my style but they were good quality items and I didn’t really dislike anything. The items worked out to be £4.25 each and I think they are great value for money. I think it was a great idea to do this, it wasn’t something that took a huge chunk of my money and think it’s a cool way to open you up to new styles and experimenting with your style a little.

I hope you enjoyed this weeks post and thank you so much for taking the time to come to my blog.

  1. I really love the sparkly piece you got! But I have to agree with you that the slit is wayyy too high for a normal night out. Nevertheless, you look great in everything, including the last one! x

  2. Wow, i feel like I need to try it! All of the things you got look fab on you, I’m not too keen on the last dress as it wouldn’t be my style either but it’s still pretty! I’m loving the jumper/dress x x
